From the 26th till the 30th of May 2010 Priveekollektie will participate in Art Amsterdam, the largest fair for contemporary art in the Netherlands. The gallery will present new work by the artists Arik Levy, Anutosh, Hans Kotter, Ien Lucas, Eric de Nie and Miguel Chevalier.

Priveekollektie will show several works by the internationally well-known artist Arik Levy (Tel Aviv, Israel, 1963) during the fair, such as installations, photography, a light object and a sculpture. Levy was selected to participate in the No Holds Barred area with the installation ‘Personality Disorder Social Codes'.

Anutosh (Oldenzaal, 1970) new series "Space and Light" will be introduced by Priveekollektie. His recent paintings are composed in a balanced, yet thrilling way, offering a glimpse of beautiful, unknown worlds.

Light is the main subject of the photographical work of Hans Kotter (Mühldorf am Inn, Germany, 1966), as it captures the breaking of light through prisms and the spectrum of colours resulting from it. Also in the technical execution of his work light is an important feature, as Kotter integrates L.E.D.-light in his installations. His plexi ‘Light Box’ and his most recent photographical works will be shown at the fair.

The abstract paintings of Ien Lucas (Echt, 1955) are often characterized by bright colours and a continuous, advanced experiment with patterns like stripes and dots, technique and material. Her works suggest to be infinite.

Eric de Nie (Leiden, 1944) makes colourful abstract paintings, in which grid-like patterns of lines play a major part. The personal signature of the artist is shown as De Nie explores the effects of flowing and dripping paint on the raw canvas. This provides movement and rhythm to the repetitive stripes inspired by music.

New artist: Miguel Chevalier
Last but not least, Priveekollektie will introduce the internationally renowned artist Miguel Chevalier (Mexico City, 1959) in the Netherlands. During Art Amsterdam the gallery presents several works, such as lightjet prints and sculptures, from his ‘Fractal flower’ series: a generation of virtual gardens, forming artificial paradises. Also his ‘Pixels infini’, a multicolor print with a two-way mirror, which creates the optical illusion of the infinity, will be shown.
We will be pleased to welcome you at Art Amsterdam at stand 120, No Holds Barred 120C. The artists will be present during the opening.
