ECHO Leahy Center Exhibition | Butterflies, Live! | PRIVEEKOLLEKTIE

As the world’s habitats are increasingly threatened with human impacts, it is important that we all have the opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary diversity of the planet’s wildlife. The delicate, colorful wings of butterflies and moths reveal evolution’s power to create high functionality and beauty at the same time. We marvel at a butterfly as it skips along, flitting this way and that, looking for a mate and its next nectar meal. In these times of national strife, the beauty and majesty of the butterfly can help us recenter our soul and emerge refreshed.

During this exhibition Baby Flutter by Dominic Harris will be on display. The museum is opened between 10 AM and 5 PM.

ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain is a 501(c) non-profit organization. ECHO’s mission is to educate and delight people about the Ecology, Culture, History, and Opportunities for Stewardship of the Lake Champlain Basin.

Een Koninklijk Paradijs | het Dordrechts museum

Queen of the Netherlands, Máxima, will open the exhibition Een Koninklijk Paradijs – Aert Schulman en de verbeelding van de natuur on February 18th, 2017. The exhibition is opened from February 19th until September 17th 2017, highlighted with a complete chamber decoration of Palace Huis ten Bosch, the Palace where the king and queen will live.

The Dordrechts Museum exists 175 years and is one of the oldest museums of our country. The anniversary is celebrated with a superb overview of the work of Aert Schouman (1710-1792) from Dordrecht. Schouman belongs to the most important Dutch artists of the ‘ Silver Age ‘. As animal painter he is internationally known. He is famous for his watercolors of ‘ in-en uitlandsche vogels ‘, mammals and plants, and his bird wall pieces.

The Museum will combine the works of Aert Schouman with the ruffled series from Dominic Harris. Ten birds will be on display.
