Een Koninklijk Paradijs | het Dordrechts museum

Queen of the Netherlands, Máxima, will open the exhibition Een Koninklijk Paradijs – Aert Schulman en de verbeelding van de natuur on February 18th, 2017. The exhibition is opened from February 19th until September 17th 2017, highlighted with a complete chamber decoration of Palace Huis ten Bosch, the Palace where the king and queen will live.

The Dordrechts Museum exists 175 years and is one of the oldest museums of our country. The anniversary is celebrated with a superb overview of the work of Aert Schouman (1710-1792) from Dordrecht. Schouman belongs to the most important Dutch artists of the ‘ Silver Age ‘. As animal painter he is internationally known. He is famous for his watercolors of ‘ in-en uitlandsche vogels ‘, mammals and plants, and his bird wall pieces.

The Museum will combine the works of Aert Schouman with the ruffled series from Dominic Harris. Ten birds will be on display.

On the occasion of their 10th anniversary Het Noordbrabants Museum exhibit “The industrial nature of Kranen/Gille” from 11 February to 14 may 2017. Besides the “A … Chair” series and the “Fredersen” wing chair, a total of 40 designs will be shown.
